Metabiotics: A Brief Scientific Introduction

What Are Metabiotics?

Metabiotics are bioactive molecular fragments derived from beneficial probiotic bacteria, including cell wall components, DNA motifs, and intracellular metabolites. Unlike live probiotics, metabiotics are non-living molecules that directly interact with the body’s immune and gut receptors. They represent an evolution of probiotic science, offering measurable, structurally defined compounds that can regulate host systems more efficiently than traditional probiotics or postbiotics.

In Stellar Biotics products, metabiotics are specifically generated from a carefully selected strain of Lactobacillus rhamnosus (DV – NRRLB-68023), chosen for its broad immunomodulatory potential.

How Metabiotics Are Made: Proprietary Cell Fragment Technology™

Stellar Biotics harnesses a proprietary process called Cell Fragment Technology™, designed to replicate natural microbial breakdown sequences that occur in the gut. This process uses enzymes (similar to those in the digestive system) to gently lyse probiotic cells, releasing:

  • Cell wall fragments
  • DNA motifs
  • Immune-active intracellular materials

These components—the metabiotics—are then collected and formulated into supplements such as del-IMMUNE V®. This method ensures a consistent, stable, and bioactive product that provides targeted immune and gut system signaling without relying on live microorganisms.

Stellar Biotics: History & Scientific Foundations

Stellar Biotics LLC (originally Pure Research Products, LLC) was founded in 2002 with a mission to advance immune-oriented nutraceutical science. Its focus rapidly expanded from traditional probiotics to include neonatal research into microbiota signaling molecules—what the company now terms metabiotics.

Dr. Liubov Sichel — The Scientist Behind the Science

At the center of Stellar Biotics’ development is Dr. Liubov Sichel, a microbiologist with decades of research experience. Dr. Sichel co-founded the company and led the development of their signature metabiotic formulations. Her work integrates deep microbiological insight with practical nutraceutical design, grounding Stellar Biotics’ products in mechanisms of immune modulation and gut ecology.

Why Stellar Biotics’ Approach Is Distinctive

What sets Stellar Biotics apart in the microbiome supplement landscape is its focused extraction of metabiotics through Cell Fragment Technology™:

  • Direct immune signaling — metabiotics engage immune receptors more rapidly than whole probiotics.

  • Broader therapeutic potential — metabiotics may support mucosal immunity, inflammation regulation, microbial balance, and pathogen defense.

  • Enhanced stability — non-living molecular products are shelf-stable and safe for diverse populations.

Stellar Biotics’ flagship ingredient, del-IMMUNE V®, is among the most clinically documented metabiotic supplements available in the U.S. market and is formulated to replicate natural gut immune signaling while supporting systemic immune functionality
